Do you value what you're spending money on?
Jul 04, 2018Your spending habits are a reflection of your values.
If this concept is new for you, I'll explain what values are: it's what we hold to be of the highest importance and worth to us. Worth our time, energy, effort. When we are living a life aligned with our values, we feel alive and full of joy - we feel a deep sense of fulfilment.
The problem is that many of us are living in conflict with what we truly value.
We spend money on things that we don't particularly care about, or because we think we should, or because someone else did it, or because we're seeking instant pleasure instead of focussing on long term and long lasting joy.
So what are some examples of values...
growth
family
freedom
security
contribution
adventure
vitality
love and connection
What is most important to you?
When you're clear on your values, financial decisions become a WHOLE lot easier.
Are you spending money in a way that is getting you closer to your values, or further away from your values?
