I've spent over 10 years learning from the most brilliant minds in money, wealth, and investing to take myself from 20 K in debt to a seven figure investment portfolio. Join in. As I share the secrets towards more growth, money investing and ultimately freedom. My name is Simone Masa, Huggins, and welcome to ms. Wealthy's kiss my money podcast.

Oh, today's app is a goodie. I am bringing a couple of the mindset basics back home so that I can start from the start with you guys and actually go through honestly, the step-by-steps and the five things that impact your mindset because mindset dictates our reality. And what happens on out in a world really creates our outer world. Okay, so this week I kicked off with a new client and she is, she is so freaking awesome. She is creating a business for herself. She's heavily into personal development. She's had a coach before she has a different coach. She's hired me as her one on one coach around money and wealth building and transforming her money mindset to really up level and take it to another quantum leap. Right? And so when I have one Oh one clients that I know have done a lot of deep work around personal development and training and coaching and programs and mentors and consultants and all the things, I don't want to tell them to suck eggs, meaning I don't want to go over the same thing with them.

If they've already done a lot of the work, because I want to get, you know, I want to take them to the next level. I want to give them a different perspective. I don't want to just do the same thing they've already learned, even though we actually need to hear things seven, eight, nine, 10 times, and in different ways, in different parts of our life. So that is true, but I always make sure that when I start with new clients, that I go through what they've already done. So I have a clear idea. And so I started going through a couple of really like the kind of mindset basics that, um, really helped to understand why mindset is so damn important in all areas of our life, especially when it comes to money. And I went through a couple of things and I realized that, you know, I was operating on this, that even if you've done personal development work, even if you've done inner work and you've had a coach or you've done programs, it doesn't mean that they've explained things the same way, or it doesn't mean that they've covered these, this stuff off.

So I want to go through a couple of things too specifically that are going to help to really set the foundation around mindset and seriously help to transform the success in your life, around your mindset, around how you're operating in your inner world so that it starts reflecting your outer world. Okay. So the first is a concept before I get into the five things that stack to create like this mindset system. Okay. So the first one is, if you haven't heard this concept before, like I said, it's like your inner world creates your outer world. So if you look at your result in your life right now, if you are struggling to get by, if you are going on spending sprees and he's still really not sure why, if you're riff kind of rejecting money, subconsciously, if you, uh, you know, in massive amounts of debt, if you're struggling to earn more, if you're a high income earner and you can't keep any money, if you aren't earning a lot in your business, but you're totally burning out and you don't know how to create more balance, if like whatever it is in your life right now, your current results are a reflection of your belief system.

And here's why, whatever you believe to be true, whatever you hold in your mind. Now that dictates what you think that dictates your thoughts, right? And whatever you think on a day to day basis, both subconsciously and consciously will dictate your feelings. So whatever you believe leads to your thoughts, whatever you think leads to your feelings. So if you have a deep seated belief that it's super hard to make money that is going to lead to thoughts. Like I have to work my ass off. I have to do 16 hours a day. I have to over deliver for this client. I have to have like three different businesses and offer like 20 different services. I have to stay here after the boss has gone home. Like that'll lead to thoughts around that. And then the feelings that come up will be I'm so exhausted. This is so hard.

I feel so confused. I don't know what to do. I feel lost. I can't keep going. Um, and you'll end up kind of feeling deflated and burnt out. And then our feelings dictate our actions and our actions dictate our results. So if you're like in this hustling stage, right where you're like, it's so hard to make money, I'm working my ass off. I'm making good money, but I'm not keeping anything. I have nothing to reflect. It I've saved nothing. I have no passive income streams. I can't even invest. Where is all my money going? If that's the reality of your current results in the world that you're living in. Now it's a reflection of your belief system. Because like I said, your belief system leads to your thoughts. Your thoughts leads to your feelings. Your feelings leads to the actions you take and your actions literally dictate the results you have in your life right now.

And the funny thing about actions, if we do that for long enough, you know, the thing about habits, right? Then we get into this vicious cycle of the same habit, day in, day out, we act out the same behaviors. So it means that the results that we have in our life, honestly come from the belief system that was formed when we were growing up. So if you are like in your twenties, if in your thirties and your forties, whatever this happened before you even knew you were developing belief system, this happened when you were young. Like, look, psychologists say in the theories, say between zero and seven years, some say up to 10, some say up to 14 years, but really let's just say between zero. And when you became a teenager. So this all happened before you even had an idea or a concept or an understanding that you were forming, limiting and empowering beliefs around everything in your life, including money.

So right now, I just want you to understand and grasp the concept that your current results are a reflection of your belief system, because it leads. If you lead it down the rabbit hole, this is where we've ended up. So if you're someone that just can't keep money, you're great at earning it. You have a belief system around, maybe you feel like you don't deserve it. And so you subconsciously push it away. Maybe you feel like, because it's so hard to make, you just have to be in this constant cycle. And so you can't possibly keep it because that would be too easy. And so you constantly spend it or you, you know, blow it and other people, or you keep putting it into things that don't actually produce any more income. And you act out these things, you are stuck in this behavior pattern that really just serves your belief system because your belief system is telling you how the world works.

And some of us don't actually kind of know a lot about what those beliefs are. And that's also part of what I do when I work with one on one clients is to deep dive into the hidden things that we don't even know are there. And there's always another one, right? Most of the time, it's the similar themes that come up, but there's always something I find over the years. And I've been doing this now for at least seven to eight years, is that something is uncovered. In fact, just literally last week, I uncovered something that I didn't even realize was kind of buried deep, uh, about my friends when I was in school. And that has helped me to, to kind of get another dimension on a belief pattern that it comes up for me often. So we all have these blocks and limiting beliefs, and we all have empowering beliefs.

And it's really just about understanding and integrating them and healing the wounds of how and why they've formed so that we can develop almost a Bulletproof psychology to our best ability. And it will never be completely Bulletproof, but it can be pretty damn close. And then you get to a point where you can form essentially like the habit of continuously pushing through and breaking down, whatever you feel like is stopping you to push through, like, you know, like that like instantly, rather than letting it keep you stuck rather than letting your belief system dictate your thoughts, which dictate your feelings, which dictate your actions and what you actually do. And instead catching the belief system in the moment so that our thoughts don't turn into damaging actions. And instead we can alter our thoughts by essentially reconditioning and breaking down the belief pattern, because we were all born with a blank slate.

We all came into this world with a totally blank slate. And depending on how we were, you are, you know, we'll determine you might have this idea that hold on. We are in like we inherit, um, thoughts from our ancestors and we inherit different patterns and fears from, uh, you know, our parents and our grandparents. And I agree with that to some degree on a say to some degree, but the strongest, most powerful, most ingrained belief patterns happen that we form ourselves in those first 10 to 15 years. So that's just an overview of why it's important to know that our belief system really does create our reality in a world, literally creates our outer world. So if you are currently struggling with money, if you're stuck, you don't know how to get ahead. If you are earning a lot, but don't know how to keep it is a reflection of your current beliefs.

And that can be upgraded, that can be shifted and changed. Like we can completely alter that, stop the patterns and change your results. Okay. Then the other thing I wanted to talk about is more around these five levels of changing our mindset. And when you go to kind of imagine a triangle and at the bottom is the base and at the top is the tip. Okay? So in this triangle, imagine that there's five layers and these are the five elements I'm going to talk about. So the very bottom is your environment. So that's like your base level. It's not the most important one, but it does massively impact mindset. So your environment is things like, where do you live? Who do you surround yourself with? If you are surrounding yourself with people who complain about money, who whinge about their finances, who don't do anything, who don't take action, who judge rich people who, you know, will say things like rich people are greedy or will roll their eyes when an Aston Martin or a Ferrari drives past that is going to impact you.

You will absorb those beliefs. You will absorb that energy. Do not expect to have an empowering belief system. If what you are constantly surrounding yourself does not reflect that, that it's just not going to happen. There's no way it's actually funny. Interesting, literally just this week, a friend of my reached out to her, cause I hadn't heard from her in awhile and we seem to have this strange kind of energy of just knowing like when each other is, you know, going through something. And she was talking about how she kind of feels like at the moment, she's like cleansing some of her friends around her life and just going through that detox because of the people who just are not serving her. And she said she felt Maine. Like she felt that, you know, that she was being cruel. And I just reminded her that it's, it's part of the process.

Like it's not cruel to upgrade your life. What is crawl is playing small and playing into the belief patterns that other people have instead of upgrading yours and impacting everyone else around you and helping everyone else around you to live a higher, better life. So our environment and it can, our environment is also things like where you live. Are you surrounded by, you know, beauty and abundance? Are you doing things in your life that are important to you? Uh, you living, you know, maybe in an area that is run down, are you living in a house that's run down, are you getting up every day in a, uh, from a bed that you love? Like even the little things impact us massively. I remember when I was growing up, like I didn't, I didn't come from money. I came from, you know, both sides of my family, meaning my mom and my dad, uh, they went together.

Uh, so I kind of, I grew up mainly with my mom and I always remember like both sides, really struggling with money and something that stuck out for me so much was with my dad. He would have holes in his shirt. Like, you know, they'd be like Teddy. And, um, I would always think, why does he have holes in his shirt? And then he'd have holes in his shoes too. Like literally like his toe would be like poking out. And like the sole of the front of the shoe would be flapping off. And I just always remember thinking, I wonder why that is. And I was too young at the time when I started thinking that. And then obviously as I grew up, I started developing this idea that, well, you can't spend money on clothes and things like that because they're, they're stuff that doesn't matter.

You need to spend money on food. And like, just like living, like all of the clothes and everything that you put on your body, that stuff doesn't matter if there's a hole, that means nothing. And so I actually got, I moved into my adult life and this is still up until like years, a few years ago, I still moved into my adult life, holding on to clothes that still holes in them. And I wouldn't let them go because I came thinking, you know, I'll just, I'll just repair it. It's fine. There's nothing wrong with it. But the holes were like so obvious. They were like on my chest or on my stomach, you could see my skin underneath. Like it wasn't, it wasn't an abundant mindset to hold onto something that had clearly lived its life. But I realized that I was living out the same belief system and living essentially out that same thought pattern that I had grown up with.

And I had to like really go, okay, this is, this is part of what I grew up with. This is how I formed this belief. And it was so interesting to see myself literally almost mimic what my dad had done. So it's the little things like that that impact us massively because if you're walking around, certainly for me, I was walking around with holes in my clothes. I did that. Didn't make me feel abundant. That made me feel poor and scarce. And like, I couldn't even really look after myself, which was completely untrue because I had, I had and still have money in the bank and investments and all that sort of stuff. And yet I was holding onto clothes that had holes. So even the tiniest things really impact our environment and the wife that we live. And I am not saying go out and buy a new outfit every week.

I am, please do not misconstrue my words. I still go to Vinnies or the thrift shop, whatever your version is that you call it and buy second hand things. I actually quite enjoy it, particularly because so many often have tags on them. Uh, the one that I go to has a lot of designer clothes that literally still have tags. So they've never been worn or they've been more like one, like once for an hour, they're in perfect condition. And for me, it's like actually quite fun to like ruffle through things and like find these hidden gems that one person didn't value, but someone else does. So I'm not saying go out and buy and consume things. Cause the reality is you don't need to. I am just saying, look around your life at the little things that impact your environment. And if there's, you know, a couple of things that are really massively impacting your mindset around, ah, this is really making me feel like, like I have a budget life and I have like an economy life instead of a first class life, then start looking at how you can upgrade those things gradually.

Okay. So that's environment. This might be a longer episode than normal because I've just covered off one of the five. Okay. That was environments. That's what you surround yourself with and who you surround yourself with. And just a last point note on that is you've heard the saying, and I said it before that your net work dictates your net worth. So who you surround yourself with? Start up leveling the people in your life start surrounding yourself with higher income earners, with people who have better money, beliefs start surrounding yourself with entrepreneurs who have no income cap, like start surrounding yourself with people who don't have hookups and damaging beliefs around money so that you start upleveling the abundance around you. And you start seeing this, like literally there's a limitless version of everyone else and there's a limitless version of you. Okay. So that's the base level.

Let's move on to the next one, which is your behaviors. And I feel like I've kind of really touched on this already. Basically our behaviors, our actions, our day to day actions. And like I said, obviously this is dictated by our beliefs predominantly, but it's also, you don't have to fundamentally shift your mindset to change your behaviors. You can change your behaviors now and it'll start having an almost reverse effect on your mindset just as your environment does. So behaviors are things like, what do you get up and do the moment you open your eyes. Do you check your phone? Do you start stressing about the day, uh, you cranky, um, do you fuel your body with things that will help it? Like these are the things that are really massively important, particularly like how you spend your first hour of the day. There's this saying?

And I can't remember who it is. And in fact, he's written a book on it. Basically, if you win the first hour of the day, you win the day. I don't know if it's Tim Ferriss or Tim Ferriss paraphrase, but basically how you spend that first hour of the day. Do you move your body to get like, you know, your circulation going and blood moving? Do you get out in nature and surround yourself with like the universe? Do you ground yourself? Do you listen and feed and fuel your mind with things that are going to help you not hinder you? So are there things like listening to podcasts? Do you, could you spend 15 minutes a day, like in the morning reading, could you journal and just like get out all of the crap that maybe you'd worried about the day before? Could you set intentions for the day?

Could you write out mantras? Could you recite mantras? Could you look in the mirror and say empowering affirmations to yourself to start ingraining new ideologies into your system? Could you even just start the day with meditation? Could you start the day with gratitude? Honestly, gratitude is the cornerstone of continuing and seeking and keeping and creating abundance because what you appreciate appreciates. So you can not have fear and doubt and worry. When you are grateful, you cannot be scared and worried and fearful when you are grateful. So what are your behaviors that you do every day? What do you do before you go to bed? Could you do that same thing or an abbreviation shorter version of that same thing before you go to bed, could you not look at your phone and put your phone down before you go to bed? Because here's the thing, here's what I'm going to tell you.

And this is also hard for me. And I struggle with this being an entrepreneur and a business owner, which is also partly why I've started, uh, outsourcing some of my social media stuff is if you're scrolling your Instagram feed, scrolling your Facebook feed, doing the comparison thing that I know we all do. I do it too. And I have to like, like, you know, click myself out of it because it's so damaging. If you're feeling fueling your mind with that before you go to bed, that is what your brain will think about and process for the next eight hours. Our sleep is so damn important. So start creating healthy habits around your morning routine and your nighttime routine, even your lunchtime routine, whatever it is, your behaviors dictate your success in your life. And like I said, you do not have to change your beliefs fundamentally around this because your behaviors can also start to change your beliefs.

Whew. That was a big one too. Um, okay. So I I've given you like a bunch of examples. Um, I start the day with a few things. I start with gratitude and I start with a visualization and I start with kind of like journaling on specific questions. This changes for me. So I have a previously said that every day with meditation, uh, now I saw the day with walk and listening to my favorite podcasts or audio books. When I walk my dog, um, I go to Pilates like almost every single day, if not every day, I get out and walk and see the ocean every day. Uh, I end the day with a sleepy time tea. I put my phone in a separate room. I don't look at it for at least half an hour to an hour before I go to bed. I don't look at my phone when I first wake up for the first hour, which like I taught, I find it hard.

I'm not, I'm not gonna lie to you. I do struggle with it. But my, the times where I don't follow through with that and I have to rush race out the door, or I just can't get up early enough to put that in. You know, maybe I need to be out at 6:00 AM on a flight or whatever. Then I do pick up my phone. It massively impacts my mindset for that day. So I know that putting in the habits and behaviors really do help. Okay. Next one, moving on is beliefs. So we've covered environment, recovered behavior. Now we've covered beliefs. Now I've already spoke, spoken about this, um, in the, the first part of this episode. So I'm not going to go into this in detail because you already know it. You already know that you formed your belief patterns from when you were growing up.

We all do. We all have beliefs around everything. Uh, we all have blocks around many, many, many things, and these blocks are what dictates our reality. Now I will say that it takes time to completely work on and shift your beliefs. I'm not talking like decades, but I am like if you put in a solid, like if you work with a coach or a mentor to really get these belief systems like sorted, it has massive effects. Like the quantum leaps that you take. And I'm speaking from personal experience, a massive now the people around me that I surround myself with now, uh, literally multimillion dollar earners. They are multimillionaires, meaning that don't just make the money. They also keep the money. I've built multiple passive income streams. Now I am surrounded by and inspired by, and I'm blessed enough to have these incredible people in my network, but that wouldn't have happened with the one Dilla mindset that I started with when I first had these belief systems before I even started working in them before I even knew that I had belief systems that were blocking me from what I wanted, I just felt stuck.

And I didn't know why. And so now I'm, I've, I mean, I I'll be real with you. I have spent years like seven to eight years working on uncovering rewiring and healing, the belief systems that I did have to completely alter them so that now I have a new level. And now, you know, if you've been listening to this podcast for awhile, um, that we did hit the seven figure Mark in terms of like investment portfolio in terms of assets that make money for us, like in our sleep that we're doing, do anything for that is not in the business. That's literally just in assets. So I didn't create that with one tool or mindset. I created that, which I now have a million dollar mindset. And so that's why I still continue to put tens of thousands of dollars into coaching and mentors. Every single year, this year alone, I've spent, uh, I'll be spending and spending close to $50,000.

And some people will say that that is obscene and maybe that's what you make in a year. But again, I didn't start with that. I started with like, you know, a few hundred dollars here and there. And then, then I actually started realizing Holy crap, like this is the shortcut to my success. Like this is making massive impact in my life. And I started leaving these conversations that I was having with coaches, like just going, they are worth their weight in gold. And I just continuously upgraded and have upgraded over the years by hiring different, better coaches to get me to the next level, because there's a next level for me as there's a next level for you. So that's belief system. Now the next level is values. So we're on our fourth. Now start with environment, went to behaviors, spoke about beliefs. Now we're on values.

Values is a massive one. It honestly dictates what we do and how we live our life. And I'm going to do a separate episode on this because it's so, so powerful. Um, but values is basically it's. What is the most meaningful to you? Because we use our money as a stand in for what we value. So it may be things like you really value connection. You like, maybe you're a turtle socialite, and you're like, you just love the connection. So maybe you value love, maybe you value achievement or success. Maybe you, you know, value family. Uh, it could like there are so many different values that we all can focus on and it's different for everyone. But basically we all have a set of values that kind of like rule out life. And for most of us, for, for many of us, we don't know what they are.

I certainly didn't know what values were until I first heard the concept years ago. And I still didn't kind of like really really know. And it wasn't kind of years down the track that I got super clear on what mine worth. So I, like I said, I'm going to go through that in a different episode because I can do, uh, hours on it. Uh, but now spoiler alert, my top value is growth. And what I realized is the growth has actually been probably my highest value from it for as long as I can remember. And that's probably to do with growing up and how I'm wired, but it's also why I spend so much money, um, growing myself and taking myself to the next level. And that's part of why I've achieved this success I have because growth is so important to me. It's like what I value the most.

It's what drives me and the other kind of major one. And I'll go through all of them in another app is freedom. So freedom is a really, really big part of my life. And when you think about it, it's like, Oh my God, that's so obvious, like building financial freedom, you know, creating income assets that ensure that like building a lifestyle now. So being an entrepreneur and a business owner and building a lifestyle that literally reflects that and having the opportunity to literally go around the world and live in different places around the world for periods of time and then come back like that is so important to me. So there are a couple of examples of values, but it might be things like curiosity. You might seriously value dedication. You might seriously value being ethical. You might massively value health or vitality. Um, you might massively value security or spirituality or faith or strengths or peace.

There can be so many things. And there's an incredible process to go through, to look at what you value. But like I said, our values stand in our money or is a standing for what we value. So working out what they are, are incredibly important to get clear on how that impacts how we behave, what we do, how we act, how we feel and how it impacts on mindset. Okay. The final one, the tip of the triangle that I started with 20, 30 minutes ago is our identity. This is probably if not the most powerful, fricking thing we can do. So our identity literally dictates our entire life. And again, beliefs a part of it because the most powerful words in the universe are the words that follow I am. And we all have some pretty negative self talk times in our life. Right? I know I have, I've spent time in my life of saying some not great things to myself and I, and I had to spend like a period of time, like forgiving myself and learning to really love myself because it was so incredibly damaging.

But our identity is like impacts and determines who we are, how we show up in the world, what we do, how we act, how we behave, what we create. It is the most powerful thing we can shift and alter in our life. So if you're saying things like I am shy, I am not confident. I am not good at money. I am someone that just can't get ahead. I'm someone that just can't work it out. I am not intelligent. If you are saying a collective of those things or any of those things, your brain believes you. Honestly, our brain is the most incredibly thing in the entire universe. Like the, how it operates. Just still. We have like teams of hundreds, of thousands of people working on brain science, trying to understand it and still not really understanding how it works. Like it's so freaking incredible.

The operations, it performs what happens in the background without sleeping, eating, walking. And yet we don't even think about most of them. But the flip side of that is that our brain is so powerful that it can keep us stuck in our limiting subconscious beliefs that we haven't questioned. It can keep us stuck in our habits and behaviors that we haven't investigated or looked at. And it can keep us stuck and safe in our comfort zone because that's part of being a primal human being. Because in terms of evolution, it's not really been that long for us to evolve past the point of when lions were hunting us. So our brain is pretty much like Wyatt to essentially keep us safe and you're not comfort zone and not do anything that's too scary. And for the brain change can sometimes be scary, but it's this false fear because it's not real fear.

It's completely imagined. So when we start to change our identity, our brain can kind of try and like sabotage it, like stop it. But also if we don't change it and we keep saying those things like I am not that smart. I am not great with money. All of those things, our brain believes us because it's essentially a command center. It acts out what we tell it. And so the opposite is true too. If you say to yourself, I am intelligent. I am curious. I'm an incredible woman. I'm a giver. I'm caring. I am loving. I am limitless. I am worthy. I am enough. And you say that continuously to yourself. And really honestly, start to believe it. Your brain has no choice, but to literally believe it and act out what that is. Like I said, it's a command center. What's so also so freaking cool about that is when we tell our brain things, our subconscious works in the background to try and seek it out.

Like it is a seeking machine. So when you put it to work and you put something in the back of your mind, like the saying goes, it will seek out how to make that a possibility, how to make that a reality. It may not happen tomorrow or the next day, but this is why the power of visualization and goal setting and creating mentors and having mentors and seeing the reality of the possibilities of what you can create and surrounding yourself with that. That is why it's so powerful because our brain essentially achieves what it believes. So if you are believing these insane things about how you suck or you're crappy, or you're stuck, then that's what your brain and your mind will act out. That is what your mind will achieve. So that's kind of how I'm going to wrap it up because I feel like I've come full circle now.

And I know I've gone on way longer than I usually on a solo episode, but I hope that this has been powerful and empowering and grounding and inspiring for you to put in time, to put in actions, to start a changing your identity, shifting your beliefs, focusing on your behaviors, understanding your values and changing your environment so that this changes your thoughts. And it changes your feelings so that you act differently and you create the results that you want. This has been a big one. I need to go grab a glass of water. I want to hear what you thought of today's episode. Is it too long? Did I go through too much? What do you want to know? More of, like I said, as you know, you can DM me on Instagram, find me on Facebook, email me. I'm on all the things in the day, but not before bed. Uh, but until the next episode, I'll see you then.
